Studio 7 Theatre Arts teaches dance and musical theatre in Scunthorpe, from first steps at three through to exam grades, and adult classes too.
Here at Studio 7 in Scunthorpe, we have a devoted team of highly trained teachers who are dedicated to providing their exceptional dance training to enable the growth and development of our students.
As a family-run theatre school, we provide a range of high quality classes that develop students’ knowledge, skills and understanding of the dance and musical theatre industry. We as teachers aim to continue our own training to make sure our students get the very best and most current knowledge from the performing arts industry.
We ask students to respect one another as well as their teachers, and to come into the studio prepared with a positive attitude for every lesson. The teaching practices support the personal and social development of students, helping them to make healthy lifestyle choices, supporting them to grow in confidence and enabling them to develop lifelong friendships.
Here we aim for dancing to be a fun but also rewarding experience. Whether dance is just a social hobby or a career ambition, we will strive to make every student that walks into our studios feel part of the family environment. Our doors are always open for new students to come and experience a lesson with no obligations.
What we teach
We teach ballet, tap, modern, commercial, musical theatre and acro, alongside Mini Movers creative movement for our youngest dancers. Classes run from age 3 through to 18 and over, and most of our dancers take more than one style, because the techniques feed each other.
Our classes are taught by ISTD qualified teachers. Ballet, tap and modern follow a graded syllabus, with examinations available at every level through the TDSC exam board, where Miss Lauren is a lead examiner. Exams are always optional and entering one is a conversation with you rather than an expectation. Commercial and musical theatre are choreography-led, with no syllabus and no exam.
Classes are taught in small groups, so every child is seen. Some of our students go on to train professionally; most come because they love it, make friends, and grow in confidence every term. Both are equally welcome here.
Starting at Studio 7
Every new dancer gets a free trial class with no obligation to join. There is nothing to buy first. Come in comfortable clothes you can move in, and we will tell you about uniform and shoes only if you decide to carry on.
We do not ask for a term’s notice or tie families into a contract. Invoices are issued at the start of each term for the lessons in that block, and a dancer joining part-way through is only charged for the lessons that are left.
Our studio is on Brumby Wood Lane in Scunthorpe, with parking on site. Families travel in from across North Lincolnshire, including Ashby, Bottesford, Brumby, Messingham, Broughton, Winterton and Brigg.

Principal of Studio 7. ISTD qualified in ballet, tap and modern, and a lead examiner for the TDSC exam board. A graduate of Performers College with a Level 6 Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre from Trinity College London.
